The Barbarigo Terrace apartment is in the San Marco District close to the Accademia Bridge and only a few steps from the San Samuele Vaporetto stop.
It offers a unique combination of features that can hardly be found in other apartments: iconic Grand Canal views from the many windows of the living room, a quiet roof-top terrace where you can have a sunny lunch or a candlelight dinner, spacious rooms elegantly furnished with antiques and art, and a remarkable Palazzo environment with an interesting history dating back to the 15th century.
It is accessible by private water taxi, by far the best way to start your holiday in Venice. Found in one of the most picturesque places of the city, in the surroundings you can find the world-famous Teatro La Fenice, Palazzo Grassi, Cà Rezzonico and a myriad of Art Galleries. In Campo Santo Stefano, only 2 minutes’ walk from here and one of our favourite squares in the entire city, there are good cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy “la dolce vita” at its best.
The Barbarigo is located at third and top floor and can be accessed through a large and easy to climb stairway or through a brand-new elevator, a rarity in Venice. Recently restored with a discerning eye to offer all the contemporary comforts, such as air-conditioning and Wi-Fi, while carefully preserving the typically Venetian calm, slow-paced atmosphere of the past, the Barbarigo Terrace sleeps six guests in an incredibly bright, elegant and spacious accommodation.
It has a beautiful living flooded with natural light from its five west-facing windows overlooking the Grand Canal and prestigious neighbour’s Palazzos. It features Venetian Terrazzo flooring, delicate stuccoed ceiling, modern art, plenty of comfy sofas and period pieces, and a subtle glass dining table with a set of Philippe Starck Ghost chairs.
There's a superb kitchen with feature fireplace: a well-equipped space where the warm colour palette and rustic style marble-topped work table, antique wooden dining table, chairs and cushioned church bench seating work in harmony with metalwork chandeliers and decorative heraldic crests in creating the grand and rather baronial feel of a great estate kitchen, while an external staircase opposite the kitchen entrance takes guests to the furnished roof terrace offering bird's eye views over Venice and its rooftops.
There are three double bedrooms, each with air-conditioning: two charming and exceptionally well-presented doubles of a very good size (one with king size bed, the other with two large single beds that can be used also as king size double), two spacious bathrooms with bathtub and, at the top of the staircase in the attic level, a further cosy double bedroom with twin beds, wooden floorboards and ceiling and en-suite bathroom with shower.
We strongly recommend the Barbarigo Terrace apartment under every aspect, being characterized by a very particular style reflecting its remarkable historical heritage, for up to 6 discerning guests in total comfort.
